About Us
In a small town like Stevensville, Montana, we know there aren’t many options to get things like prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, wedding gifts, home, and office supplies, and even shipping services when you need them the most.
That’s why we do our best to offer a variety of products and services at our historic pharmacy and general store for your ongoing home, office, personal, and healthcare needs – as well as an ice cream and coffee bar for a special treat or your everyday pick-me-up.
When you come in, we work hard to get your prescriptions filled quickly and give you the best service around. We want our time and needs valued when we’re on the other side of the counter, so we are committed to doing the same for you! Today, we have two Pharmacists, Tammy Harris and Anders Johnson, Pharmacy Technicians Amie Hall and Bradley Webster, and several clerks who work hard to serve our patients.
Valley Drug has been the "hub" of Stevensville for over 100 years. In 2016, my wife, Tracey, and I purchased the store from long-time friend and business associate Dan Severson, who had owned and operated the business for about 25 years.
Like so many of you, we grew up in the area – Tracey is from here and I'm from Florence – and we are proud to be a part of and contribute to the Stevensville community.

Countless relationships
Celebrating 10 years
With roots in Stevensville going back to the 1890’s, Tracey and Chad were both raised in the Bitterroot Valley by families who enjoy hiking, hunting, and fishing. Upon graduating from Florence High School, Chad went to pharmacy school at the University of Montana where he graduated in 1996.
The two married and moved to Washington to begin Chad’s pharmaceutical career. After a year and a half, an opportunity arose and the two embraced a move back to Montana. Chad was happy to work at Rosauers in Missoula; the same place he interned while at the University of Montana. His chance to work at Valley Drug and Variety came in 2000.
With a new job and a new baby, Chad and Tracey were happy to grow in the Valley. Over the past 25 years, they have raised their son in the same home, instilling in him the same grounded values and love of the outdoors.
In 2006 the couple purchased Family Pharmacy from Dan Severson; owner of both Family Pharmacy and Valley Drug. They then purchased Lolo Drug in 2012 and finally Valley Drug in 2016. Eventually Lolo Drug and Family Pharmacy were sold to fellow Montanan families so Chad and Tracey could put all their focus on growing Valley Drug and Variety and attached Triple 7 Liquor.
Chad has been the recipient of the Montana Pharmacist of the Year award and the U of M Pharmacy School's preceptor of the year.; also known at Valley Drug as Best Boss.
The last 10 years have been tremendous and with the support of the community and their team they are certain Valley Drug and Variety will still be thriving in another 10 years.
